Synthetic Marijuana Illegal in Georgia
A new Georgia law makes all forms of synthetic marijuana illegal.
Governor Nathan Deal signed the legislation into law yesterday.
The law is called Chase's Law -- it's named after Chase Corbitt Burnett, a 16-year-old student from Peachtree City.
Burnett died in his parents' home after smoking synthetic marijuana.
Synthetic marijuana contains chemical compounds that mimic the effect of cannabis on the brain.
It's currently sold in gas stations across the state.
The substance can cause psychosis and violent behavior.
