LAKE CITY, Fla. – Two men were arrested in connection with a man being shot in the neck early Saturday.
Columbia County deputies said Jay and John Cowan had an argument with the man in the 100 block of Northeast Sunnybrook Street in Lake City at about midnight.

Deputies said Jay Cowan, 33, fired a shotgun into the ground near where the victim was standing during the argument. The victim then approached the front porch of the home and was shot by John Cowan, 60, who deputies said called 911 after shooting the victim.
The victim was flown to a trauma center in Gainesville with a single gunshot wound to the neck. He is expected to recover.
Detectives from the Columbia County Sheriff's Office said they were able to recover a .32 caliber handgun from the front porch of the home, in addition to two shotguns.
The Cowans were arrested and booked into the Columbia County Detention Facility with bail set at $75,000 each.
