NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. – A Nassau County school teacher pleaded guilty Tuesday to a charge of traveling to meet a minor to engage in sexual conduct with a child, a second-degree felony.

According to a St. Johns County Sheriff's Office report, Joshua Johnson, 30, was arrested April 30 when multiple agencies in northeast Florida went undercover to catch online sexual predators targeting children.

Prosecutors said Johnson answered an online ad posted by an undercover agent posing as a 14-year-old boy. They said Johnson replied and solicited who he thought was a child for sex.

Johnson made arrangements to have sex and was arrested at the undercover home in St. Augustine, prosecutors said.

A sentencing hearing for Johnson is scheduled for June 12. Assistant State Attorney Jennifer Dunton said she will seek a prison term, designation as a sex offender and the surrender of Johnson's teaching certificate.
