Murder trial date set for 13-year-old boy Cristian Fernandez also awaiting trial on sexual assault charge
Cristian Fernandez is awaiting trail on a murder charge.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A trial date was set Tuesday for a 13-year-old boy charged with killing his half-brother.
Cristian Fernandez is set to stand trial Sept. 10 on the murder charge.
He already had a trial set for June 25 on a sexual assault charge.
Fernandez, the youngest murder suspect in the history of Duval County, is accused of beating his 2-year-old sibling to death. He could potentially get life in prison if convicted.
Fernandez was 12 years old when he was arrested last year. His prosecution as an adult has sparked criticism of the State Attorney's Office.
