JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Isaiah Boston will spend the rest of his life in prison for the shooting death of Travis Green, a man who he saw walking with his ex-girlfriend.
Prosecutors said in January 2011, Green was walking back from a store with Boston's ex-girlfriend and mother of his child. Boston, 20, was jealous and ordered Green to the ground. Green tried to run away but was shot in the back by Boston. Green died at the scene.

"Today's sentencing highlighted the tragic and deadly consequences of gun crime in our community," Assistant State Attorney Mark Caliel said. "In an instant, a promising life is snuffed out and another is forfeited, leaving two families to mourn the loss of their sons."
The victim, Green, was a graduate of Ribault High School and had just returned to Jacksonville to work as a medical administrative assistant at Wolfson's Children's Hospital when he was killed.
Boston was convicted of the murder in March.
The state attorney's office said Boston had a violent criminal history, including abuse of his ex-girlfriend. As a juvenile, records show he was arrested for burglary, grand theft auto and battery in a detention facility.
