JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Swimming taught Rowdy Gaines about commitment, teamwork, responsibility and dedication and he will now his experiences with children during the Rowdy's Kidz Swim Clinic. He will talk to them about heroes, champions and dreams.
The Swim Clinic will be held on Thursday, May 24, 2012 from 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm at the Cecil Aquatic Center, 13611 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32221.

The swim clinic is free and open to the public, and is for all swimmers ages eight and older.
Each swimmer will receive an autograph and group instruction from the fastest swimmer on earth. The kids will have an in-water demonstration with Gaines, and the opportunity to learn about life choices and overcoming adversity.
Swimming was the best gift in Rowdy's life and he wants to return the favor to others by speaking to children about listening to coaches, parents and teachers.
He will talk to them about discipline, integrity and teamwork when he goes to schools, swimming pools and hospitals and he will bring his message of hope.
"The gold I cherish the most, I find in the hearts of children. Swimming led to Olympic gold, but it taught me more", Gaines said. "It taught me about the path it took to get there. Now I enjoy letting children know they are not alone on that path, that there is someone there to help them. The heroes in their lives who walk the path with them, guide and help them. Heroes are real people: teachers, moms, dads, uncles, grandparents, ministers."
After the swim clinic, Gaines will be hosting the Limu Experience Party where he will share how adding Limu to his training in the pool has helped to improve his times.
The Limu Experience Party will be held Thursday, May 24, 2012 beginning at 7:30 pm at the Bartrum Springs Amenity Center, 14530 Cherry Lake Dr. Jacksonville, FL 32256. The event is free and open to the public and everyone is welcome to attend.
