JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Authorities still don't know the real name of a man found guilty of aggravated identity theft after he used another person's identity for about 22 years to get a passport, military IDs and Social Security cards, and gained access to at least five Navy vessels.
The man, called John Doe by investigators, was convicted on seven counts of aggravated identity theft, six counts of falsely representing a Social Security number, and one count of passport fraud.

According to court documents, Doe assumed the identity of a living victim for about 22 years. Using the victim's Social Security number, he obtained at least 23 government-issued forms of identification in the victim's name, including a passport, two Naval Station Mayport military contractor ID cards, three Florida ID cards and six replacement Social Security cards.
The Naval Station Mayport ID cards allowed Doe to have unescorted access on at least five different Navy vessels.
He also used the victim's personal identification information at the Jacksonville Port Authority to fraudulently obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credentials badge issued by the Transportation Security Administration. The badge allowed Doe to have unescorted access to secure areas of JaxPort, including the Blount Island Marine Terminal.
Doe was arrested on a federal warrant while he was in state custody on fraud charges.
He faces at least two years in prison for each count of aggravated identity theft; up to five years in prison for each count of falsely representing a Social Security number; and up to 10 years in prison for the count of passport fraud.
His sentencing hearing is scheduled for Aug. 27.
