JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Duval County Tax Collector Michael Corrigan announced Wednesday that operating hours for all nine Tax Collector branch locations will change effective Aug. 6.
The new hours will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Current operating hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The operating hours for the Ed Ball Building Satellite Office located at 214 North Hogan St. will remain 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

This change comes as a result of budget cuts in the recently presented 2012-13 budget. The Tax Collector's office is eliminating 5 percent of its workforce.
"By reducing the hours of operation, we can help alleviate the impact that this loss of staff will have on our customers," Corrigan said. "Making this change will allow us to continue to serve our customers as quickly and efficiently as possible during the hours that we are open."
In addition, many services are available on the Tax Collector website 24 hours per day. This includes property tax payments, DMV renewals, payment of parking citations and scheduling appointments for certain driver's license services.
