ORLANDO, Fla. – An Orlando company is working on a gunpowder-detecting sensor, a device now being considered for movie theaters in the wake of the mass shooting in Colorado.

Emerging Growth Institute is working on the project with DKL Labs.

Mike Shulman, who is working on the project, said moviegoers may not even notice the technology, which would detect a loaded gun.

Some moviegoers, however, don't like the idea of being screened when going to the movies.

The product is only in the testing stage.

James E. Holmes, 24, is being held in connection with the early Friday morning shootings that left 12 dead and 58 wounded in Aurora, Col.
