Man sentenced to life in pool hall shooting 21-year-old facing death penalty in double killing case

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 21-year-old man convicted last month in a shooting at a pool hall was sentenced Wednesday to life in prison.
Jamey Edgington was found guilty of attempted first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a juvenile delinquent found to have committed a felony act.
In March 2011, Edgington got into an argument and shot Reginald Martin at Blanding Billiards. Surveillance video showed after the two had an argument inside the pool hall, Martin left the business. As Martin was walking to his car, Edgington drove up, fired three shots at Martin and then tried to run him over.
Edgington was convicted of carjacking in September 2008.
He is also charged in a 2011 double killing. Edgington faces the death penalty in that case. A trial date has not been set.
