Medical examiner says Trayvon Martin suffered after being shot by George Zimmerman Zimmerman on trial for second-degree murder in teen's death
SANFORD, Fla. – The doctor who performed the autopsy on Trayvon Martin testified that the 17-year-old teen was in pain and suffered after he was shot by George Zimmerman.
Defense attorneys on Friday objected when associate medical examiner Shiping Bao described Martin's condition after being shot.
Judge Debra Nelson sustained the objection, and Bao was directed away from that line of questioning.
Zimmerman is charged with second-degree murder for fatally shooting Martin. He has pleaded not guilty, claiming self-defense.
Bao's testimony followed Martin's mother and brother testifying they believed cries for help on a 911 call are those of Martin.
