JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Riverside gang rape suspect has been ruled not competent for prosecution.
Rakeem Mitchner, one of three men charged in the October 2009 beating and rape of a 47-year-old woman who was riding her bicycle, will have a competency review in February.
The crime happened on Goodwin Street. The victim made her way to a Park Street business, where police were called.
Stanley Armitage has already pleaded guilty to kidnapping and rape and is awaiting sentencing.
The third suspect, Martin Anthony King, is awaiting trial.
The case went unsolved until police were alerted in late 2013 that Armitage's DNA was a match in the case.
