Snake causes power outage at St. Johns Town Center

JEA: Stores left in dark, traffic lights in area went out

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – There was a blackout Tuesday night at the St. Johns Town Center.

JEA told News4Jax that a snake caused the blackout that left stores in the dark and also caused traffic lights in the area to go out.

JEA officials said a snake got into a transformer and knocked power out for over an hour Tuesday night.

Some of the stores in the Town Center closed early because of the outage.

Power was back on to the entire shopping plaza by 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.
