Duval Charter School campuses evacuated by bomb threats

Unclear if incidents were connected

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Both campuses of Duval Charter School were evacuated Tuesday.

Jacksonville police said the campus on Bell Tel Way on the Southside was evacuated at 12:44 p.m. after it received a bomb threat and suspicious boxes were found outside the school.

The boxes were checked out and found to be harmless, and the all-clear was given at 1:59 p.m.

At 1:12 p.m., someone phoned in a bomb threat at the Baymeadows campus at 7510 Baymeadows Way. It was evacuated, and the all-clear was given an hour later.

Police said they were unsure if the two incidents were connected or just a strange coincidence.
