JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville police are investigating after a shooting Saturday evening on the Northside.

Police received a call about a shooting around 5:30 p.m. Saturday on W. 22nd Street and Boulevard Street.

When police arrived, investigators said a Nissan Altima was seen fleeing the scene of the shooting. After talking with witnesses, police confirmed it was the car of the suspected shooter.

Officers caught up with the vehicle and pulled it over. They took a man and woman into custody.

The person shot sustained a gunshot wound to his leg. He was taken to UF Health and is expected to be OK.
