YULEE, Fla – The Florida Highway Patrol has just released the name of the young woman involved in a deadly accident early Thursday.
Hana Killough, 18, of Fernandina Beach died after she was struck by a tractor-trailer while walking on Interstate 95 near Yulee about 3:30 a.m. Thursday.
According to FHP, the woman was in the center lane of the highway and the truck driver said he was not able to avoid her. The big rig did stop at the scene and call for help, but the woman died at the scene.
The deadly accident blocked the left and center northbound lanes just past State Road 200 overnight while the accident was investigated.
