20 arrested in Nassau Co. drug roundup
47 felony charges filed in 'Operation No Trap Zone'
YULEE, Fla. – After months of undercover work, the Nassau County Sheriff's Office has put 20 convicted felons behind bars on a total of 47 felony charges as of Tuesday in what they are calling 'Operation No Trap Zone.'
Deputies had been performing a large number of undercover stings that allowed them to recover a wide variety of drugs including marijuana, crack cocaine, Xanax, Suboxone and hydrocodone.
Aside from the drugs, deputies say they also seized a 2010 Dodge Charger and a 2012 Ford Taurus and were able to recover a stolen Ruger .357 revolver.
"We're going to continue to investigate drug crimes in this county relentlessly," said Sheriff Bill Leeper. "If you have knowledge of someone dealing illegal drugs within Nassau County, please let us know."
Officials also say that the operation would lead to even more arrests and charges in the coming months.
