On June 29, police responded to Normandy Estates Trailer Park at 8985 Normandy Blvd. in reference to a person shot. The victim, 38-year-old Teodore Rico-Soto (pictured below), was found dead on the kitchen floor of the trailer with multiple gunshot wounds.

According to the arrest report, during the investigation, touch DNA was collected from inside Rico-Soto's trailer. A collected sample was analyzed by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and matched a previously known sample from Jackson.

Jackson was identified in photographs by multiple witnesses, and a surviving victim who was inside the mobile home identified him as the man who shot Rico-Soto, police said.

On Thursday, The U.S. Marshal's Service arrested Jackson for an outstanding warrant for an unrelated burglary. Jackson had a firearm on his person at the time of the arrest, the report said.

Jackson denied ever going into Rico-Soto's trailer and could not explain why his DNA was inside the trailer, according to the report.
