Livability also cites the area's low cost of living, warm climate, parks, golf courses and active artistic community.
St. Augustine earning a spot near the top of the ranking comes as the city prepares for its 450th anniversary celebration in September.
The only cities ranked higher than St. Augustine were Lebanon, New Hampshire; Los Alamos, New Mexico and Durango, Colorado.
