JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – People who love the Edgewood Bakery and Jaguars players showed up Saturday to celebrate iconic business' grand re-opening in Murray Hill.
The bakery has been open for about eight weeks, after a financial battle ended with Jaguars owner Shad Khan's Stache Investments gaining control of the bakery.
The Edgewood Bakery has been in the community since 1947.
Jaguars players were there signing autographs. The Jaguars Foundation is matching and doubling the money made at the grand re-opening and giving it to DLC Nurse and Learn, a school for children with physical and mental disabilities.
"It's great to make a donation like that. The school runs off donations. So to make something like that it really means a lot to us," Phillip Barber whose child attends DLC Nurse and Learn said..
"I live over there in Five Points in Riverside. I know this is a huge part of the community over here. I'm just really glad they re-opened and I'm really happy for them," Carson Tinker, Jaguars long snapper said.
News4Jax was told no major changes are expected at Edgewood Bakery in the future. The only change that's being made right now is an upgrade to its website.
