1 dead, 1 injured in shooting in Arlington
Jacksonville, Fla. – Police are investigating a deadly shooting overnight at the Oakwood Villa Apartments in Arlington.
The shooting happened about 12:45 a.m. at 8201 Kona Avenue, behind Woodland Acres Elementary School.
Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Sgt. Craig Waldrup said officers found one man dead and another with a gunshot wound to the leg. He was taken to at UF Health Jacksonville with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say an unknown dark-colored vehicle drove through the apartment complex and opened fire at the two victims, then left the scene.
They said they have identified the injured victim but are waiting on next on kin for the man who was killed.
Detectives were interviewing witnesses who saw what happened and the victim in the hospital. It's unclear if this was drug related.
