Water main break floods Westside neighborhood

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – An old 8-inch water main broke Friday afternoon on Ridgeway Road East, flooding a Westside neighborhood.

JEA said a crew shut off water to the area and is working to repair the water main.

A witness said the water was flooding up over the curb on the street and that a 4-foot deep hole had opened in the road.

Children were seen playing in the water.
