Report: Lil Wayne booted off plane for smoking pot

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Flying high in the friendly skies has reportedly grounded Lil Wayne.

TMZ says the rap star was kicked off the private jet he had chartered out of Fort Lauderdale after he lit up a joint once the plane was in the air.

According to the celebrity gossip site, Lil Wayne told the pilot before take off that he planned on smoking marijuana on the flight, and was told that it was not allowed.

Despite the stern warning, Wayne and his entourage lit up a few joints just after wheels up, angering the pilot.

The unnamed pilot immediately turned the plane around and landed at Fort Lauderdale / Hollywood International Airport 17 minutes after the group departed.
