2 businesses burn in Northwest Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla – Fire crews with Jacksonville Fire and Rescue battled a two-alarm fire Sunday morning at a commercial building in Northwest Jacksonville.

The building on Lem Turner and Broward Road housed a motorcycle club, motorcycle repair shop and a tutoring business.

"We got here and found heavy smoke coming out of the roof. Within five minutes the roof burst into flames. We never entered the building because it was unsafe. We extinguished it with a ladder truck," said Andrew Harrold, district chief with JFRD.

 About 50 firefighters battled the fire. The state fire marshal is investigating the cause.
