GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A man being questioned Sunday by an officer about a fight ran over the officer's foot, sending him to the hospital, the Gainesville Police Department said.
Dionte Ford, 21, was charged with aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer and driving with a suspended or revoked license.

Police said officers responded to the Grenada apartments on 1800 NW 4th Street because of reports of a fight.
One officer attempted to stop a fleeing vehicle believed to be involved in the disturbance, police said. The vehicle drove past the officer, then stopped.
The officer walked up to the vehicle and was standing on the driver's side when the vehicle accelerated, running over the officer's right foot. The vehicle traveled a short distance and then stopped.
The officer was treated and released from a hospital.
