Bodden was arrested by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement in the triple-shooting, which happened just before 2:30 p.m. Thursday on Carolina Lake Drive.
Police said Timesha Floyd Carswell, 21, and Diona McDonald, 19, both of whom attended Bethune-Cookman University, died in the shooting. Micah Parham, 21, also a B-CU student, was taken to Halifax Hospital in critical condition.
"He (Bodden) was a coward in that apartment when he killed those girls on Thursday and in the end, he took the coward's way out," Chief Mike Chitwood said.
Chitwood told WKMG-TV that Bodden's phone was shut off Thursday night near Delray Beach, and authorities believed that Bodden was headed to his hometown, Miami, where he was spotted around noon Friday.
Family members have set up a GoFundMe page to help bring Carswell's body back to Michigan and cover funeral expenses.
