Another Wells Fargo robbed in Gainesville

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Wells Fargo bank in the Oaks Mall parking lot in Gainesville was robbed about 4 p.m. Monday, according to the Gainesville Police Department.

A bank employee triggered a silent alarm during the robbery.

Police said a man entered the bank, handed a noted to a teller indicating that he was armed and demanded money. He fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Officer,s including K9s and a helicopter, searched the area but did not find the robber.

The suspect images and the MO are very similar to a robbery at the Wells Fargo on Archer Road last month, police said.

"It's too early to say it's the same suspect, but it's very close," GPD spokesman Ben Tobias said. "We believe we may have identified the suspect since the last one and are working on tracking his last known location. We will release the suspect information once it's confirmed."

There were no reported injuries.
