Starbucks barista helps deaf customer
ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – Video of a Starbucks barista helping a deaf customer in the drive-thru is going viral on Facebook.
Rebecca King said she pulled up to the Starbucks off I-95 and State Road 16 in St. Johns County.
The barista realized she was deaf and turned on the video screen so she could communicate with King via sign language.
"It is much easier for deaf people to order at the screen instead of writing paper at the window," King told News4JAX.
King said she wishes all drive-thrus had video screens for deaf customers.
As of Wednesday afternoon, the video was shared more than 63,000 times on Facebook.
