Domestic dispute ends in shooting
Pellets struck victim in her back, face and hand
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 78-year-old man is charged with armed aggravated assault and shooting into a car, as a result of a domestic dispute with his 31-year-old female roommate last night.
Ashley Holcomb and James Thomas O’Quinn got into an argument, and she decided to leave and called her husband, Sean Holcomb to come pick her up. He did, and as they were driving away, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office says O’Quinn fired one round from his shotgun, hitting Holcomb with several pellets.
According to police reports, the pellets struck Ashley in her back, face and hand. The victim was taken to UF Health with non-life threatening injuries.
The victims told police they watched O’Quinn walk back into his house on Sycamore Street in Northwest Jacksonville, after the shooting. O’Quinn allowed SWAT to search his house, and officers found the shotgun the suspect used to shoot the victims.
O’Quinn surrendered, was taken in for questioning and booked into the County Jail.
