ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – A 54-year-old St. Johns County man was arrested Wednesday afternoon after he allegedly tried to meet a young girl for a sexual encounter, according to police.
Detectives said they communicated with Timothy James Hladky online earlier this week and claimed he sought a sexual encounter with a minor. Police said Hladky was eager to meet with the "minor," so a meeting was planned for Wednesday afternoon.
When Hladky arrived at the meeting place, he was taken into custody by awaiting officers. Police also seized his vehicle to search for more evidence.
He was taken to the county jail and charged with soliciting sex from a minor, traveling to meet a minor for sex and unlawful use of a two-way communication device to facilitate the commission of a felony.
Hladky's hearing is scheduled for Thursday morning.
