JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Northwest Jacksonville man is behind bars, accused of pimping an underage Clay County girl and holding her in an apartment against her will.
The 15-year-old girl told police 22-year-old Orlando Mukes used a website to advertise her as a prostitute, and held her in an apartment.
An arrest report said Mukes "sexually battered" the teen "on three separate occasions." The report also said Mukes "committed acts of human trafficking with the victim by advertising (the victim) on Backpages," a website known for prostitution.
The report also stated Mukes drove the victim "to different locations to meet random men for sex in exchange for money."
News4JAX spoke with Mukes' sister, Shlain Jordan, who said the 15-year-old's claims aren't true. Jordan said she's shocked and her brother is not guilty of the crimes.
"He (Mukes) was not holding her. She was with another guy and she refused to leave; she didn't want to leave. And making it seem like she was being held against her will, that wasn't true," Jordan said.
The specific charges against Mukes are two counts of sexual battery and four counts of lewd and lascivious activity on a minor.
