JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – It's an effort to prevent food waste and provide healthy food to those who need it most. Farm Share is hosting a free food distribution event in Jacksonville.

Last year more than 32 million pounds of food was made available to families, children, the elderly, the disabled and veterans.
The event is Saturday, January 9th from 9 a.m. to noon at Paxon Revival Center Church Commonwealth Avenue.
There will be fruit, vegetables, milk, bread and juices available. Just show up to receive free food.
