Police: Man shot dead in parking lot near day care No description found
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man was found shot to death in the parking lot of a day care near Panama Park, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
The man was later identified as Maurice Cardell Sutton, 33.
Police say that officers were flagged down near West 48th Street and North Main Street, near Northside Elementary School, early Thursday morning after someone found a body on the ground.
Officers don't know how long Sutton's body had been there, but said it was probably prior to 4:20 a.m. and it appears that he was shot in the parking lot near a day care.
At this time JSO does not have any suspect information. Officers are checking video surveillance.
