Aquanette Johnson sentenced to 30 years in prison

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Aquanette Couvoire Johnson, 23, was convicted of second degree attempted murder with a weapon, and now faces 30 years in prison. 

According the the State Attorney's Office, officers arrived at the Heritage Apartments and found the victim, who is not being named, bleeding in the parking lot of the complex.

The investigation revealed Johnson and the victim were engaged, but they had broken up a short time before the incident. The victim and Johnson started arguing, and Johnson stabbed the victim six times with a knife. The victim managed to get out of the apartment and yell for help. Johnson then ran to a neighbor's house. The victim has recovered from his injuries. 

Johnson will be sentenced on March 17, 2016.
