Man convicted in fatal Jacksonville stabbing

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 35-year-old man was convicted Thursday of second-degree murder in connection with a stabbing at a Jacksonville apartment.

Police responded to a Toledo Road apartment in December 2012 and found 22-year-old Jessie Bracelett on the ground and bleeding from stab wounds. Bracelett died at the scene.

Investigation revealed Maurice Lenard Johnson stabbed Bracelett and then claimed self-defense, police said. Johnson will be sentenced the week of April 25.
