Police searching for man who tried to rob Jacksonville gas station

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Authorities are searching for a man who reportedly tried to rob the BP Gas Station in the 8800 block of San Jose Boulevard in Jacksonville.

The robbery was reported March 3. Police said the man went to the counter with a black handgun and demanded money. The victim didn't give the man any money, but instead called police.

The would-be robber ran out of the gas station and fled in a brown Ford Taurus. The car was last seen heading north on San Jose Boulevard, authorities said.
