JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Mackenley Winder Fiacre, 26, and Francis Majak Lai, 28, were both convicted Friday evening of first-degree murder and armed burglary.
In April 2013, officers responded to a Miss Muffet Lane residence in Jacksonville after the home’s alarm was set off. Upon arrival, they found the victim, 58-year-old Barnat Bella, lying on the floor, dead from a single gunshot wound to the back of the head.

The investigation revealed that Fiacre and Lai entered Bella's home during a burglary. During the crime, Bella was fatally shot in the head. The two then fled the scene through a window, leaving behind their DNA.
Fiacre and Lai now face mandatory life in prison. They will be sentenced the week of April 11.
