Arlington beauty supply store owners searching for burglary suspects

A beauty supply store in Arlington was broken into twice in two weeks and over $80,000 worth of merchandise was stolen, the owners said.

And it was all caught on camera.

News4Jax spoke to the owners of Beauty Supply USA, who now say they're offering a cash reward to catch the thieves.

"Unbelievable, this is unbelievable. It's not good for business,” said Amir Hussain, one of the owners.

The burglaries have forced the owners to go back to work restocking the shelves of the store, which is known for selling virgin hair bundles and extensions, including anything from curly to straight to red or even blue hair.

The owners said business was good until the break-ins.

"A police officer called me at 6 a.m. and told me somebody broke in again,” Hussain said.

Surveillance video shows men shattering the glass door and grabbing merchandise during the first break-in.

The owners then replaced the door with shatterproof material.

"It's very strong; it's hard for anybody to break it easy,” said Moe Mhyar, the other owner of Beauty Supply USA.

As shown in the video of the second burglary, the men tried to break through the door and when their attempts failed, they broke through the glass window. The owners believe they are the same thieves who committed the first break-in, because they're dressed the same way and are carrying oversized trash bins, as the first thieves did.

The suspects seemed to know exactly what they were looking for because, the owners said, because they headed straight to the most expensive hair extensions behind the counter and stuffed them into the trash bins they were carrying, as well as into bins belonging to the store.

"Hair extension industry is a really huge industry right now so they know what they're getting. They’re something to be sold easily in the streets without getting caught as easy,” Hussain said.

The owners said the stolen extensions and clippers in both burglaries are worth more than $80,000.

But the business is open as usual.

"Everybody's coming here, everybody's sorry, everybody's pissed off that something's happening in their neighborhood. It warms our heart that everybody cares,” Hussain said.

A contractor was called back to replace yet another glass panel.

"Now we're probably going to change the whole thing with unbreakable ones. It'll cost a lot, but we can't have the same problem all the time,” Hussain said.

These business owners said they've been a part of the community for 16 years and never had a problem like this until just recently.

"I don't know what to say, honestly. I can't even think what we should do right now, too much frustration,” Hussain said.

They just want the suspects caught.

The owners are asking anyone who knows anything about these break-ins to call the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office or Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS. They're also offering a $2,000 reward for anyone with information leading to an arrest.
