MADD host annual community awards

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The people who speak up for the victims and families of drunk driving honored some of the men and women on the front lines of the war against DUI Friday evening.

MADD, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, works to bring attention to the victims, the other side of the story.

They handed out individual awards to officers and deputies from Clay, Duval, and surrounding counties for their work in fighting drunk driving.

They also recognized and honored WJXT Channel 4 with the group's Triad award.

It's given to an organization that demonstrates community involvement, awareness of the cause and compassion for the victims of drunk driving.

Channel 4’s Rob Sweeting was there to accept the award on behalf of the station.
