ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – Parking at the beach can be a nightmare during summer holiday weekends, so St. Johns County is offering residents an alternative way to reach the beach.

The county is providing a free shuttle service that will take residents to Mickler’s Beachfront Park and the St. Johns County Ocean and Fishing Pier.

The shuttles will run from May 28-30 for Memorial Day, July 2-4 for Independence Day and September 3-5 for Labor Day. Each weekend there will be shuttles every 20 minutes from 10:00 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Mickler’s Beachfront Park shuttle will take visitors between Cornerstone Park, 1046 A1A North and Mickler’s Beachfront Park.

The Pier shuttle will transport visitors between St. Augustine Beach City Hall, 2200 A1A South and the Pier parking lot.

County Commissioners hope the shuttles will relieve congestion at the popular travel spots during the holiday weekends. The shuttles will not run if there is inclement weather.
