Inmate dies at Columbia Correctional

An inmate died Monday night at Columbia Correction Institution, the Florida Department of Corrections said.

Inmate Steven Dorsey was serving six years for his conviction on robbery and carjacking charges in Pinellas County.

The medical examiner will determine the cause of death, the DOC told News4Jax.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating.

The DOC said it’s unable to give information about events surrounding Dorsey’s death at this time due to the active investigation.
