HASTINGS, Fla. – A 40-year old St. Johns County man was arrested Tuesday afternoon on charges of soliciting a child for unlawful sexual conduct using a computer and unlawful use of a two way communication device, the sheriff's office said.
The suspect, identified as Robert William Hayden, 40, was booked into the county jail in lieu of bonds totaling $20,000.

A parent of a 15-year old female juvenile called the Sheriff’s Office when she discovered alleged inappropriate text messages and social media posts from her daughter and the suspect last week, deputies said.
Detectives with the Sheriff’s Office Special Victims’ Unit were assigned to the investigation, whichrevealed that the suspect allegedly solicited the juvenile by way of text messages in an attempt to engage in unlawful sexual conduct, while knowing that she was a minor, deputies said.
Based on the text messages, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Hayden on Tuesday, and he was taken into custody without incident.
