JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Jacksonville woman slain in Atlanta was laid to rest Saturday.
JoKisha Brown was shot and killed while sitting in her car in a northwest Atlanta parking lot last week.
Detectives continue to look for the shooter while friends and family remembered the aspiring actress and model who would have turned 36 the day after she was killed.
Brown’s funeral was held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Jacksonville.
Brown's close friends said her personality was as magnetic as her smile.
“She was just a great person inside and out,” Jokisha’s friend Sabrina Ramey said. “She walked in a room and filled it with her smile. It was just so beautiful. She was always so positive. Just a great person overall.”
In addition to seeking her killer, Atlanta detectives are looking for a motive.
Friends say Brown was going through a terrible breakup and had voiced concerns that she was fearful for her life.
Brown leaves behind a 17-year-old son.
