Kyle Johnson, 29, of Middleburg is charged with child neglect

MIDDLEBURG, Fla. – A 29-year-old  Middleburg man was arrested Sunday after his son showed up at a neighbor's house wearing only a diaper, according to the Clay County Sheriff's Office.

According to the arrest report, the neighbor's mother called 911 after the toddler came to the home on Twin Oak Drive. The neighbor told deputies that it was the second time the boy had wandered away from home.

The boy's mother had been "frantically searching the neighborhood for her child," according to the report. Her son was returned to her, deputies said.

Natalie Johanning said the saw the child wandering the neighborhood the previous day, but he was fully clothed then.

"I just want to make sure the child is alright," Natalie Johanning said.

The child's mother told News4Jax Monday that nothing happened to her son, but the father made a bad decision.

The Department of Children and Families was also called to investigate.
