Jacksonville man sentenced to life for shooting woman in head

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Andre Deshon Jenkins, 29, was sentenced Tuesday to mandatory life in prison for second-degree murder.

Jenkins was convicted of the charge in July.

In May 2011, 48-year-old Delilah King was found dead in the front yard of an Oaklane Drive home.

The investigation revealed that while Jenkins was with the victim, he fatally shot King in the head.

Jenkins fled the scene, but DNA recovered at the scene matched Jenkins' DNA.
