JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office SWAT units were called out early Friday morning to a San Marco home.

Danielle Rene Tomlinson, 28,  was inside her home on Mark Avenue around midnight when 42-year-old Frank Salmons knocked on the door. Tomlinson opened the door and shot Salmons in the ankle, inflicting non-life-threatening injuries, officers said.

Salmons left the house and called police.

SWAT teams were outside the home for several hours, trying to get Tomlinson to come out.

"It's protocol when there's a dangerous person inside a house," a JSO deputy said. “(The) SWAT team comes out with hostage negotiators to protect the public and the safety."

Tomlinson had already left the house when officers were able to enter around 8:45 a.m.

Officers said they were able to arrest Tomlinson after her mother brought her home later in the morning.

There is no pending court date set for Tomlinson. She is being held on a $500,000 bond.
