FHP: Putnam County woman hit, left to die

GEORGETOWN, Fla. – A 24-year-old woman was killed Monday morning in a hit-and-run crash in Putnam County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Troopers identified the victim as Carlie Lovenia Cummings, 24,  of Georgetown, Florida. 

Cummings was walking on Lakeway Drive at Ferncreek Drive when she was struck by a white vehicle about 5 a.m., according to FHP.

The driver of the unknown make and model vehicle then drove away in a northwesterly direction, troopers said. 

Cumming was found by a passerby, who reported the incident to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office.
