Blaze consumes 2 shipping containers behind Eastside business

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Firefighters were able to put out a blaze that consumed two shipping containers on the city's Eastside Friday night, the Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department said.

Crews responded about 9 p.m. to the fire in a storage area of Flower Express, which is located on West 16th Street near North Main Street, according to Fire Rescue.

Firefighters said a shipping container caught fire, and the flames spread to another container. Crews were able to get the fire out in just minutes.

A fire chief at the scene said it appeared that nothing of value was lost, just miscellaneous goods.

The state fire marshal's office was called to investigate.
