JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – An investigation is underway after a car was found in the water at the Dinsmore Boat Ramp off Dunn Avenue Tuesday night, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Police were called after people walking by spotted the car partially submerged off the ramp at the end of the Trout River.

A JSO sergeant at the scene told News4Jax that the vehicle is believed to have been abandoned; however, the dive team was called just in case.
One witness said he saw a man on top of the vehicle when it was in the water.
"We (were) walking back from a buddy's house and (saw) all the flashing lights and they walked on the porch, and I walked on the dock right there and he was back there on top of his car in the water," Anthony Dorwarth said. "The rescue squad was trying to get him, but he jumped into the water and got on the bank and we (were) talking to him. But he didn't leave with them, he wasn't hurt."
It's unclear if the man who was seen on top of the vehicle was the person originally driving the vehicle, or if he jumped into the water to see if anyone was inside the vehicle.
News4Jax will update this story as more details become available.
