In one of the two burglaries that occurred Thursday, police said, Dacres broke the front window screen. The man who lives in the apartment heard something and walked to the front of the apartment.
That’s when Dacres cocked his gun and threatened to kill the victim, according to an arrest report.
Another burglary had been reported at another unit at the complex earlier, the Sheriff's Office said.
Officers said they were able to get surveillance video of the suspect from the front office of the apartment complex, and later found Dacres hiding in a wooded area nearby.
Police said they also discovered a stolen TV and other stolen items, including a gun that had been taken from another Fort Caroline apartment on Jan. 30.
